My name is Justin F. Miles and I’m the founder of Integral Preparedness, dedicated to helping individuals and communities prepare for life’s challenges in an integrated and deeply transformative way. Although I’ve practiced preparedness for over 20 years, my background also spans being a psychotherapist, the studying, practicing and teaching Buddhism, Contemplative Christianity, Taoism and the Lakota tradition, Integral Theory, martial arts, Hiphop, horticulture, marksmanship, Black Consciousness and personal development—areas I’ve come to see as interwoven strands of a single tapestry.
My journey into Integral Preparedness began with a simple observation: traditional preparedness strategies often emphasize physical readiness—stockpiling supplies, learning survival skills, and planning for emergencies. While these are undeniably important, they only address one facet of our resilience. True preparedness encompasses much more, including our mental, emotional, spiritual, and communal well-being.
