Miles Institute of Integral Living Collaboration with Umuntu Permaculture Project

In July of 2022, Miles Institute of Integral Living LLC began a partnership with UMUNTU Permaculture Project in Zimbabwe to assist them in the creation of food forests and tree nurseries as a way to combat food insecurity caused by economic instability and poor weather conditions.

The goal of UMUNTU is multifaceted and includes:

  • developing an eco village that would house residents, teach and promote sustainable permaculture, incorporates water management, soil preservation and enrichment, cultivating seedlings, planting trees, and creating a food forest that could provide a year-round supply of fruits, nuts, beans, vegetables etc.

  • creating a retreat center where participants can learn permaculture and meditation.

  • bringing together local and foreign communities to work together to repair the planet

  • creating an orphanage where youth will live in a safe and loving environment and where they can learn gardening skills.

To aid them in this project, Miles Institute will help to raise and donate funds to UMUNTU for various projects.
